ARTS SAMPLER WORKSHOP
DATES & TIME: June 12 – 16; 1:00 – 4:00 pm
STUDENTS: Rising K – 5th Grade

TUITION: $215 + $5 reg fee = $220; $185 + $5 reg fee = $190 sibling in same workshop; includes materials

Our Arts Sampler Workshop offers children a chance to explore and experience the arts, emphasizing engagement and creative process.  Children may work in age-differentiated groups or together.  The Arts Sampler is a fun and enriching workshop that many students return to summer after summer. Breaks for snack and stories outside under the trees (weather permitting).

The workshop is designed so that children who have participated in previous summers may participate again with new projects & experiences.


ART & THEATER WORKSHOP

The Art & Theater Workshop introduces younger children to creative experiences in art and theater games. Art & Theater every day; snack with a story in between classes.


MIDDLE SCHOOL ART & DESIGN WORKSHOP
DATES & TIME: June 20 – 23 (Tues – Fri); 1:00 – 4:30 pm
STUDENTS: Rising Grades 5 – 9
TAUGHT BY: Sharon D. Tolczyk
TUITION: $240 + $5 reg fee = $245; $215 + $5 reg fee = $220 sibling in same workshop; includes materials

Students will work on engaging projects exploring design, shape, and texture with various media, in color and black & white. We’ll also experiment with brainstorming & ways to generate ideas. Project will build on/vary from previous Art & Design workshops; students who participated then may enroll again this summer!


PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP (BALLET/MOVEMENT, THEATER, ART)
DATES & TIME: June 26 – 30 or July 10 – 14; 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
STUDENTS: Rising Grades 1 – 5
TAUGHT BY: Sharon D. Tolczyk, Ballet & Art; Boomie Pedersen, Theater.
For students with or without previous ballet training, with an interest in ballet/movement/theater/art. Students will be grouped according to experience level/age. Choreography/vignettes will center around a different focus/theme for each workshop so that students may participate in both.
Students will create art, props, costume pieces to use in performance. Lunch & breaks outside under the trees (weather permitting!).

Studio Performance for families at 3:15 on Friday.

MS/HS ART JOURNALING
DATES & TIME: July 3, 5 & 6 (Mon, Wed & Thurs); 1:00 – 3:00 pm
STUDENTS: Rising Grades 6 – 12

Embark on a creative journey where you have endless possibilities to express your ideas, feelings and memories.  Your art journal will become the perfect tool for mixed-media layers and continuous experimentation.  
TUITION: $100 + $20 materials + $5 reg fee = $125


WATERCOLOR SKETCHING WITH JOHN A. HANCOCK
DATES & TIME: Sundays, July 16 – August 13; 1:30 – 4:00 pm
STUDENTS: 
Adults & very mature teens
Explore techniques for sketching with watercolor in this 5 week course. Traditional watercolor over pencil will be our starting point but we’ll also try several other watercolor sketching strategies including the addition of inks and the use of watercolor pencil and/or watercolor crayons. When weather permits, we may sketch outdoors in/near Crozet. Designed to be suitable for beginner to advanced students who have some previous experience in drawing (or painting).

ART WORKSHOP WITH LEXY MCCALLUM
DATES & TIME: July 17 – 21; 9:00 am – Noon
STUDENTS: Rising Grades 1 – 5
Drawing, painting and all things making! Your budding artist will tap into their creativity in this delightful intro to art, build confidence, and gain foundation skills that will last a lifetime. While exploring a variety of media and styles, this class focuses on the elements of art and the process of design. Each day features new techniques and projects, complete with an art exhibit on the final day to showcase their masterpieces!
TUITION: $225 + $25 supply fee + $5 reg fee = $255

CLAY WORKSHOP WITH LIZ HERLEVSEN, RED MUD HEN POTTERY

DATES & TIME: July 17 – 21; 1:00 – 3:00 pm
STUDENTS: Rising Grades 1 – 5
Get stuck in the mud while you explore clay with Crozet ceramic artist, Liz Herlevsen! Students will explore a variety of hand-building and surface-decorating techniques with stoneware clay and have an opportunity to try the potter’s wheel. Work will be glazed and fired after the class, and need to be picked up two weeks after the end of the session. Everyone will have an opportunity to create multiple decorative or functional works of clay art and use underglaze to explore a greater range of colors in this beautiful traditional medium.
TUITION: $200 + $50 Materials/kiln firing fee + $5 reg fee = $255
