The Twinkle Project is a collaborative production using selections from Mozart’s 12 variations on, “Ah vous dirai-je, Maman” (familiar to us as, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”) and verse from Shakespeare.  The workshop is open to students (girls and boys) with or without experience or previous training in the arts. Students will learn dance/instrumental/drama scenes based on constellations, the Story of Dhruva (North Star), Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and will create props and costume pieces for the production.

Students will concentrate in dance or theater for their performance role(s); original choreography and scenes will be created for various small groups to build the production.   All students will participate in art and various music activities.

Talent Education @ Crozet Arts cello students will perform selected music and will accompany the dancers and actors, as well.

During Art, all students will participate in making props/backdrop/costume pieces for the performance.

On Friday, the workshop will finish with a studio performance of the week’s work.

 •

The Twinkle Project is a premiere production that will be tailored to those who enroll in the workshop.

Students will work in small groups according to age, interest, and skill level.

Come join us for a creative and fun week!!

The production is directed by Sharon Tolczyk (Artistic Director, Crozet Arts), Boomie Pedersen (Director, Hamner Theater), Dr. Beth Cantrell (Director, Talent Education at Crozet Arts), and Madhavi Reddi (Bharatanatyam classical Indian Dance).
