Art Workshop for Grades K – 2

Nature Inspired Art that Celebrates the Summer

Tuition: $40 for one class, $70 for two classes, and $100 for three classes (materials included).

A series of three workshops that draws inspiration from the tiny wonders that surround us in the summertime: leaves, flowers, and insects. Students will be given the opportunity to explore their artistry through a variety of techniques including painting, splattering, printing, collage and more! Children are welcome to enroll in one, two, or all three of the workshops.

—> Students should bring a large [old] t-shirt to use as a smock, or wear art-friendly clothes that do not mind paint/glue/etc.

—> Students should bring a water bottle, labeled with name; there are no drinking fountains in the building.

—> Students with long hair:  please pull hair back into ponytail to avoid paint/glue/etc.

Classes will follow Crozet Arts Covid protocols:  Masks are required to enter the building, and must be worn by students during these art classes; limited enrollment with individual workplaces; hand washing/sanitizing; limited sharing of supplies; enhanced cleaning practices.  Please email Sharon Tolczyk with any questions:  CrozetArts@gmail.com

Catherine Konvalinka is from Virginia, went to highschool and college in Washington, D.C. and has lived in Charlottesville since 2017. She has been passionate about creative self-expression from a young age. She has developed her skills through many courses and workshops offered at Edmund Burke School, The Art League of Alexandria, and The Smithsonian. Catherine interned at The National Gallery of Art and taught art classes to elementary students. She received a B.A. in Elementary Education from American University and a Masters of Education from The University of Virginia. She is certified to teach Pre-K through 12th grade. Catherine is also a mixed media artist who layers paint, photographs, found images, and objects on paper.  Her goal as an art teacher is to encourage creative exploration and artistic risk-taking so students can grow, learn, and engage in a process that produces joy.
