Finding Mozart

Theater Workshop for Rising Grades 8 – 12

Using excerpts from an original play, Imaginary Letters, Mozart Remembered  by Peter Coy, created for the Hamner Theater for Wintergreen Performing Arts,  we will explore the imaginary possibilities of history and the relationship between words and music.   The play is based on a book by Michael White about Mozart; the workshop will finish with performances in conjunction with The Twinkle Project on Friday, June 27th.

Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday afternoons from 3:30 – 5:30 pm:

June 17 – 18 – 19  & June 24 – 25 – 26

Performances on Friday, June 27th  (afternoon; times TBA).

Boomie Pedersen was born and raised in NYC. She has lived in NY; Tokyo, Japan; Los Angeles, CA and now lives in Crozet with two, sometimes three, of her six children. She has a dance background, holds a BA in English and Theater from Princeton University, and has worked in the theater most of her life. She recently became the Artistic Director of the Hamner Theater, where she was Co-Artistic Director  for 8 years.  She runs the Hamner Improv Troupe and has taught Improv at North Branch School, theater at Renaissance School, acting and directing at Randolph College, as well as acting, directing and producing in many of the area’s theaters.  She was also instrumental in founding the Central Virginia Theater Alliance.  Boomie is the Theater Advisor for Crozet Arts where she also teaches theater classes for children and adults.
