Dear Crozet Arts Families, Friends, and Supporters!

Since 2009, Crozet Arts has nurtured access to high-quality, student-centered, process-driven arts education in our community, serving students of all ages from Crozet, Charlottesville, Albemarle, Nelson, and  Augusta Counties, and beyond.  We are passionate about developing lifelong engagement in the arts through instruction with dedicated and experienced teachers in Ballet, Cello, Guitar, Visual Arts, and Theater.

Crozet Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, registered as Old Crozet School Arts, overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors.  We believe the arts teach vital modes of seeing, imagining, inventing, and thinking; how to problem solve and envision solutions; develop perseverance and resilience and, perhaps most importantly, how to find and foster joy and beauty in one’s work and in the world around us.

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted our organization tremendously.  We taught exclusively via Zoom from April 2020 through the Spring of 2021, returning cautiously to in-person classes in the summer of 2021.  Equipped with new air conditioners for our studios, high-capacity studio air filtration units, and plenty of cleaning and sanitization supplies, all made possible by a large anonymous grant in June 2021, we have been able to slowly rebuild our programs.  Still, our overall enrollment remains well below what it was in March 2020.

This Giving Tuesday marks an especially important moment in our pandemic recovery:  After petitioning the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors for rent relief in April 2020, with letters of support from over 60 Crozet Arts students/families to the BOS, we were granted first a rent waiver from April 2020 – December 2021 and then, after a further petition for continued support, half-rent for 2022.  January 2023 marks our return to paying full rent.  As we continue to rebuild our enrollment, tuition alone will not sustain our overhead without help from our supporters.

Please join us for 2022 Giving Tuesday on November 29th and help us raise funds to support our operations.  Our goal for this 24-hour event is $2000.  All gifts, of any amount, are welcome and will be deeply appreciated.

How else can you help Crozet Arts?

Please talk with your family/friends/neighbors/acquaintances and encourage them to try a class/workshop at Crozet Arts!  Word-of-mouth has always been our surest means of bringing new students and families to our programs.

Please help us in any way you can as we continue to rebuild during these precarious times.

With gratitude,

Sharon
