FRIDAY ABSTRACT ART

with Laura Allen

For Grades K – 5

6-weeks:  Fridays January 23 – March 6 (no class February 13)

Choose one of two classes:
3:30 – 4:30 pm
or
4:30 – 5:30pm

$105 + $5 Registration = $110

Shape, color and emotion rule in the world of abstraction. Draw the shift from real to abstract, pour and splatter action paintings, study shape and color with sculpture and lots of painting.  Study Op Art (optical art), Jackson Pollock, Ellesworth Kelly, Kandinsky and Morris Louis and more.

PAINTING FROM LIFE FOR BEGINNERS

with Noaa Spiekermann

For Grades 5 – 9

Workshop 2: Focus on the Object – Friday, Jan. 23rd, 6:30-8:30pm

The focus of this workshop will be to practice seeing and then conveying objects in three-dimensions.  Students will work from an object chosen in the studio or from an object they bring from home.  Before creating a portrait-like painting of the object, students will warm up with color mixing exercises and by creating sketches of the object from different angles.

$20 tuition + $10 materials fee, per student
(materials will be provided by the instructor)
Please bring a snack, water bottle, and a smock or old t-shirt to class!

HENNA WORKSHOP

with Madhavi Reddi

Saturday, January 24th, 1:30 – 2:30pm

In this one hour introductory class, learn some basic Henna drawing techniques that you can draw on yourself or a friend!

For ages 10 – adult
Tuition:  $20 (includes individual henna cones to keep)
