Holiday Benefit Concert by Terra Voce for Crozet Arts

Flute and cello duo, Terra Voce, will give a holiday concert to benefit Crozet Arts on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 7:00 pm.  The concert will take place at Crozet Arts and will include selections from the duo’s repertoire and their recently released CD, The Frost is All Over.

Known for their colorful variety of styles and creative arrangements, Terra Voce’s winter-themed program explores diverse traditions from around the world. Flutist Elizabeth Brightbill and cellist Andrew Gabbert have delighted audiences with their virtuosity, conversational style of presentation, and genre-expanding programs that explore a range of musical styles and cross-cultural influence while at the same time testing the limits of what is possible on just two instruments. In addition to their numerous performances on college campuses and community concert series, they have appeared on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center, in the Christ Chapel Chamber Series at New York City’s Riverside Church, and as finalists in the National Flute Association’s Chamber Music Competition. Together with three other flute and cello duos, Terra Voce has formed a commissioning circle and premiered the consortium’s first commission, Dviraag, by Asha Srinivasan, in 2009. They later performed this prize-winning work at the 2010 Society of Composers National Conference to much acclaim. Terra Voce has released two CDs; their self-titled debut CD (2009) and The Frost is All Over (2011), which was chosen as an “Editor’s Pick” on CD Baby.

The concert is open to the public.  Tickets will be available at the door ($10/person or $30/family).  Desserts by local restaurants & caterers following the concert.

Crozet Arts is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization and is located at 1408 Crozet Avenue (side entrances) in the rear of the Old Crozet/Field School.  For more information please visit CrozetArts.org.
